THE YOGSCAST: MUSEUM EXHIBITION FILM FOR THE SCIENCE AND MEDIA MUSEUM

As the title says, the below film was a reasonably long documentary looking at the mechanics of making online gaming videos for Youtube. It was produced for an exhibition about the impact of the internet on traditional media production and it ran at the Science and Media Museum, Bradford.

The idea was to ensure that the film, which relied heavily on one interview, had broadcast values and was well structured. That it clearly explained what was involved in making online gaming videos, how The Yogscast group began and then encouraging others to try it for themselves.

I had access to a lot of third party footage and stills provided by The Yogscast group, and along with sourcing 8-bit sound effects I set out to make it as creative and contemporary as possible.

I offline and online edited the film in Davinci Resolve Studio, which also meant I could quickly dip into the colour grading page and check that the third party footage I was choosing was flexible enough in terms of quality and with regards to colour grading, so it would sit comfortably with the interview footage and the days B roll.  I did a little bit of green screen work in Davinci Resolve to help illustrate part of the interview and then did a basic sound design to add a bit of depth to the film.

I hope you enjoyed the film and should you wish to contact me for editing work please don't hesitate to use the contact section in the left hand margin or call me on 07807 526 691. If you prefer email, my address is andyswarbrickeditor@gmail.com
